I would like to replace my cracked up leather seats in my ’90 with something else. I know a lot of people opted for the 94+ seats, but what else has been used? Are there seats from other vehicles (not necessarily Fords) that fit well in a mustang? I am not into buying “racing seats” for it and I’m on a relatively tight budget so I’m hoping that I can find something nice from a wrecker.

Anything can be made to fit. Just depends on how creative you are. Some skills with a welder and fabrication may help as well.

You might find seats that can bolt up to the fox tracks, but other than Sn95 stuff, nothing is gonna be direct bolt it

I've seen Nissan and Honda seats tossed into a Fox before. They don't weigh much and they're in junkyards everywhere, so unless it has a logo of some kind on there or something, I don't see how it'd be a problem to drill 'em and bolt 'em to your stock seat brackets. Honestly, a lotta import cars have some pretty dang nice butt-holders...

They just can't seem to put a decent one in the Mustang for some reason

The Mazda MX3 came with real Recaros, they're a poplular swap for the Escort crowd.

I like the late '80s Prelude and 300ZX seats, I always thought those looked pretty nice.

If cost is an issue, what about trying to locate some clean stock replacements until you can get a set you really want.

I'm gonna pic-whore my SN95 seats simply because I just wrapped it up this weekend and think it came out pretty good. Even did the steering wheel

Seats cost me $400 for the front and rear. (steering wheel was ~ $50...still need airbag)

Mike don't forget about the flofits, the seat tracks that come with the them are direct bolt ins no fab work needed..although they are pricey but I love my seats .
