i bought some sequential talilights and installing them wasnt so bad...except the middle bulb does not light up. the instructions say this this is probably because of the connection or there is something in the way of the connector (dirt...)whats the best way to clean out the hole, its pretty small?

Use some isoprophyl alcohol and a small hobby paint brush or tooth brush to clean electrical connectors.

Which brand did you buy? Some require a connector pin to be added to one of the sockets. If not fully seated, that position will not light. Do you have the identical problem on both the left and right sides?

i'm not sure what brand it is but it does require the adaptor to be put in on both sides and i am having the same problem on both sides. i'm sure the problem is that its not a good connection but i'm not sure how to make it better, i put it in as far as i could, but its still not working.

OK . . . here's the solution I used when I had a similar problem. The extra contact pin added to the lamp socket would not make relaible connection on one side.
I went to a wrecking yard . . . there were lots of Mustangs there . . . and bought a complete smashed taillight assembly from a '98 (same lamp configuration as my '03) for $5. Only the lens was broken; all of the sockets and bulbs were good. I removed the turn signal sockets (in less than a minute) and used them.

also check to make sure you have dual filament 3157 bulbs in there and not just single filament bulbs
