When you are selling your car, is your car going to be working or is it still going to be making those sounds and such...if it is still going to be making those sounds that is going to scare people away...also i think that you would get more money putting it back to stock and selling your h/c/i seperate.

if everything is going to be fine why would you sell it? Your never going to make back nearly as much as you put into it...If it is all fixed and all you need is a tune, i would keep it. Just my 2 cents. How many miles will be on the engine, body, and trans...that is what a lot of people determine prices of cars by...with that info people can give better responses.

If you're looking to spend that much, find a nice 03-04 Cobra. I'd personally hate to see you sell the car after you've put so much work into it, but it's not my decision to make. I'm just thinking along the lines of... you modded your car because you wanted it to be fast, so why not get something that actually is fast, not an 05 GT that your car should eat alive as it sits?

Just get it baffled and whatever other little stuff it needs. I don't know where you're at with the TwEECer, but if that's a source of headache (it would be for me), just get a chip and enjoy your relatively unusual car (rather than a homogenous ride).

Keep current car and fix it = ~$500 (that's on the really high side)

Blower to get your car up to cobra level = $3000

Sell car and buy cobra/05 GT = 25,0000 - $3500 (rough sale estimate) =$21500

sooo...keep your car, get it tuned properly and you'll come out $18,000 richer and with a faster car. I don't know about you, but if I had access to 18,000 I'd be investing it so that in 4-5 years I could buy myself a porsche or a low end exotic.

or maybe a house

see what I'm saying?

i dont think he's worried about speed anymore. it seems to be a reliability issue now. I can definently feel you on the insurance of an 03-04 cobra. I was about to drive away in mine until i got a quote. not pretty, especially since i go out to sea for 6 months at a time. i like my 06. Its pretty fast, they goes low 12s pretty easily, they look good, ride smooth as glass, and they are reliable.

I hear ya. my point was more or less directed to when guero said "it still won't be as fast as a cobra". I'm sure you guys make more money than me (being that I'm still in school) so maybe I'm making too big a deal out of this. 18,000 just seems like a lot of money that could be going somewhere else.

A nice ride is a nice ride though (and I'm talking smoothness, responsiveness). I've been driving my mom's IS300 for the last week and it's an incredible machine. turns on a dime, brakes are nuts, and the chassis is ridiculously tight. feels like I'm driving a bigger go-kart

yeah, any stang can be made as fast as the 03-04, its just a matter of money. 18k is a whole lot of money, but when you get free housing, food allowance, health, dental, vision insurance, etc, you have other places to put your money. and dont get me started on re-enlistment bonuses. for my 4 year re-enlistment, im going to be expecting between 50-60k bucks

although, i know guero isnt in the service. but if his parents foot all the other bills, he's pretty much made like me.
