Installed my Prochamber today and one my way home the SES light came on. I pulled the codes and it read 161-Defective O2 sensor. I was careful not to touch the tips. Also rechecked the connections. Also reset the computer by disconnecting the cable terminals. SES light still comes on. Any ideas, or does that code really mean that the MILs are not working?

Which sensor is bad. If It is the front sensors then you have a bad sensor and need a new one.

If it is the rear then the MILS are not working properly.

They couldn't tell me what sensor it was. They did say the code was 0161, which was a malfunctioning O2 sensor. I am assuming it's the rears.

I found code listings here:

http://www.svtlightnings.com/scantool/ford dtc codes.htm

P0161 Heated O2 Sensor Heater Circuit Malfunction (Bank 2, Sensor 2)

My friend just got this code on his Subaru WRX. He had bad wiring that caused it. It's the rear o2. If it was the front your car wouldn't run great (if at all).
