Whats goin on, this is my first post and my question is does anyone make a shaker hood kit for a fox? I have an 89 coupe that I am converting to 5.0 and remember seeing the guys on horse power tv put a shaker kit on a sn95 car.

Someone use to make one called banshee performance but i think they went outta business. I could be wrong though. If i remember correctly it was like 500 bucks so you could get more hp elsewhere with that money though they are deffinately cool.

That's the right company and it may have been because the kit was like $600 and you still had to get it installed!!!! Looked kinda crappy IMO too. CDC is much better (but not available for fox body) because they used the same basic tooling as the 69/70 Mustang shaker.

Here's a pic. and a link to an article form 2000. http://www.mustangweekly.com/2000/june/newprdts/npp8.asp#

yeah the one on tv didn't look that crappy. I just want my car to be different. There are lots of foxes running around with a 3 or 4 inch cowl and they look good but I want different. Its odd that running a stock hood would actually be an original idea. I also dont want my car to look severely modified and cowl hood kindof inspire fear.

I have the exact one from Banshee. Im the only one in Hawaii with it according to them. It definately makes it unique. Im going for a clean sleeper look and it matches very well.I paid about 600 bucks for it. It looks like it came from the factory, I tell everyone its a special edition from 1987. It does shake also. Problem is, I also think Banshee went out of business. I think they went out of business too. I can post a picture for you....

It's correct that they were made for stock intakes however (comma) with a little patience and ingenuity (shims), you can mount one to most anything. The coolest ride I saw with one of these installed was on a Euro-Nose with a Kenne Bell and 2 1/2 inch inducted cowl. He used phenalic spacers to shim it up flush with the cowl. Was a nice job. The hose going from the hood duct was flexible enough that he didn't really have to modify it any to get it all to fit correctly. I'd thought of trying to do the same to my 4 eye a time or two but decided that I liked the smoother lines of my cowl the way it is. I then later partly ruined those lines with hood pins (bleh).

Yes,that is true, but with a little creativity and skill it can attach to almost any intake. The problem is clearance so it doesnt rub on the hood. Im going to hook it up to a supercharger and Edelbrock rpm II intake in the future...

I use a program called Compupic or Cpic for simple cataloging and image file manipulation. Any image program that will load/save in all the known image formats should do the same thing.
