Hello All! On December 20 drove my wife and 2 daughters to Ft. Lauderdale,
FL in the minivan. Plan was to park the stang in the garage. Darn slipprey.
As I was pulling in the car it slid into the left garage door panel at slow speed.
It sheered off the fake plastic scoop behind the drivers door and 2 real small
dents. Those I can have done at dent doctor etc... Where do I get a new
side scoop and how are they attached? FYI the numbers on the back of
the scoop show: 239 3342. GT black than a long stretch of numbers:
R3363279E01ACUAAM.

I was really pissed and took me about half way to FL to get over it. Said to
myself, should have left it outside and not tried to move it.......Guess from
hindsight that I was wrong! While we were gone it rained ice for 8-9 hrs with
snow and trees went down everywhere. One of them landed where my stang
is usually parked! It would have been totalled if it had been there. So I
guess my repairs are minimal compared to that scenario. Thanks for the
help. Mark

I belive they're double sided taped on. Don't know how much they would run though, you can always get a price from your dealership or get aftermarket scoops from like CDC.

I've actually always thought the car would look better without the side scoops. You're saying all I have to do is scrape the side against a garage or something to remove them?

Problem is that you are looking at pure
sheet metal with holes in it! Not to cute
looking!

The side scoop is held on by 6 plastic clips. There about .60 cent a piece at a Ford dealership. You can get new scoops there as well or if possible look into a junkyard or ebay for them!

I do appreciate the responses. Thanks a lot. Maybe, i should clarify. There are no
visual damages to the scoop that got
shaved off. Just flipped off with several
of those broken connectors attached.
If those clips are cheapo at ford easier to
get those than new scoops? Thanks for
taking the time to send me that URL!

I like going to that site to see what people have done to there poor mustangs. I think the prices are a little high for most of the inventory.

.60? That's cheap. When I got my Silverado back from the autobody shop for hail repair, I noticed one of the little rubber bumpers the gas door rests against was missing. Stopped in at the dealer and got nailed for 4.30 for it.

Robbery.

Yeah, .60 cent is cheap, but that's what they cost at a Ford dealership! I just had to replace 3 of mine because somebody decided to hit my car in a parking lot and ripped the side flair off!

I just replaced both of mine under warranty. Most of you should check them. I had a customer complain at work that the side scoops were a bit loose. When I removed them to replace the clips, I noticed that because of the small movement, it was eating away at the paint under it. After noticing mine moved a bit I replaced both of mine also. Usually when you pull them off the clips break but also the part where the clips attach on the scoop itself. They come prepainted from Ford. When I reinstalled them I also added some two way tape so they wouldn't move anymore and scratch the paint in the process. Hope this helps.

same thing happened to me..

I lost my side scoop on the highway.. it was dark as hell and i couldnt see. a semi through a tire and it smacked my car about at about 85mph and knocked it clean off. it knock my side skirt loose a little too. i got mine a lot cheaper than the dealer. it also uses like 5 or 6 plastic clips half green and the other half are blk. so make sure you still have them. if not order them too. the dealer didnt have green ones but i managed with all blk instead of green. I ordered my side scoop here. www.burdford.com. 75 bucks shipping included. painted and all.

also www.burdford.com is AKA http://www.partsgalaxy.com/. look under Quarter panel - Quarter panel and components - scoop - W/gt. It's $55.69. I believe the grille vent insert is sold seperate for about 10 bucks i can't remember how they have it listed. you may need to call and tell them to add it to the order.
