Just got my stang. I need to re do all the sheet metal from front fender aprons to the trunk. Is American Pony a good company? I see they have complete sets already put together. Are they a reputable company.

Never heard of them, I used NPD and they have good quality parts and very fast shipping as well.

The best place to buy sheet metal (especially if you are going to be buying a lot) is a place that is local. If you order everything online you are going to be hurting with all of the shipping costs. Smaller mustang places are usually more expensive, but you won't have to deal with shipping.

lucky for me i am in southern cali., and am close to california mustang who has a good selection and some awesome prices

But, if you order everything at once... only one shipping charge. I ordered a TON from Branda and shipped from PA to TX for only 90. That was less than the tax.

On another note, buy all the orig tooling you can. The old saying... pay the parts man now or the body man later is true with some of this sheet metal.

i have gotten parts from american pony before, they are a good company to deal with. you can also get the same parts from places like autokrafters, and virginia classic mustang in addition to the others listed.

good deal!

if you can get a lot of sheet metal shipped for $90 then go for it. every time i have looked at shipping prices they do not charge a flat rate like small items, they usually ship through UPS or something and they charge by weight. more sheet metal=more weight (usually)

Mine came it two huge boxes by truck freight... they packed it wonderfully and it was faster than UPS. Only two days from PA... I was shocked.
