I'm running the UPR Bullet style, and it's probably the last shifter ball i'll ever buy.

Also after about a year of use, that satin finish gets almost polished, then if you take some Mothers to it it pretty much is polished. My only gripe is that eventually the numbers are going to wear off after a LOT of use. Mine are getting really faint around the 3+4 in the middle/top.

For my upcoming T-5 conversion I got the classic white cue ball. The color matches my car pretty much exactly and I've always liked the old school look. As a backup, if needed, I have the OEM leather knob out of my wife's Cobra.

I love the 05 knob, I wish I had some pics to show you but I'm not at home for the rest of the week. It really fits with the interior nicely too.

Well I'm not planning on ordering it (among other chit) until after the 16th. Even if I don't go with the 05 knob, I'd still like to see pictures.

OMG, this thread is killing me...

I used to have a Bullitt knob on my previous '89 notch, but even in Missouri, the thing just got too friggin' hot to deal with in the summer. I literally burned the gear shift pattern into the palm of my hand one time. Driving around with a sock over an expensive shift knob to avoid getting burned/frozen just seems to defeat the purpose of having an aftermarket knob in the first place.

Isn't that the composite knob? Those things feel pretty nice. Not wild about the shape, personally, but the material they use is nifty - never hot, never cold.

The knob that I grabbed hold of ( :Rlaugh: ) at the UPR booth at WFC9 was just about the right size, pretty close to stock-ish in diameter, and really smooth. The temperature difference between that and the billet aluminum knobs displayed beside it in the heat of the early summer sun was immediately obvious. Aluminum = "OW! GAWD!" Composite = "Heyyyy ... that's nice."

I really wish they'd start making other knob shapes in that material - basic ball knobs, T-handles, pistol-grips, etc.

Ill be picking that one up. Ive seen them in other foxes and it really adds a modern look to the interior.

I got one by accident from 50resto.com, except it's the 6-speed pattern printed on it, and the leather has a pseudo-carbon-fiber imprint to it. Same size and shape, though.

It looks pretty, but I wound up being happier with the simple leather-wrapped OEM-style knob because the other one (10th Anniversary Cobra) is...
1. too fat for my hand (I have short little German fingers);
2. heavier and not as nimble to toss through gears as a stock-sized knob;
3. impossible to screw down all the way in exactly the right position.

It's always just a little bit skewed off to one side or the other when you get it snugged down enough to stay, and if you try to center it, it winds up being too loose and it spins around in your hand when you shift. (VERY annoying, especially when you pull back to do a 1-2 or 3-4 shift and you wind up elbowing the arm rest, banging your funny bone.)

I sanded off the 6-speed shift pattern and polished it up a bit. I tried giving it to Frankenstang, but she didn't like it, either. No lovin' for the Cobra knob. Thus, it's getting stored in the plastic bag in the closet full of about four or five other knobs I've tried and disliked over the years.
