I got one by accident from 50resto.com, except it's the 6-speed pattern printed on it, and the leather has a pseudo-carbon-fiber imprint to it. Same size and shape, though.

It looks pretty, but I wound up being happier with the simple leather-wrapped OEM-style knob because the other one (10th Anniversary Cobra) is...
1. too fat for my hand (I have short little German fingers);
2. heavier and not as nimble to toss through gears as a stock-sized knob;
3. impossible to screw down all the way in exactly the right position.

It's always just a little bit skewed off to one side or the other when you get it snugged down enough to stay, and if you try to center it, it winds up being too loose and it spins around in your hand when you shift. (VERY annoying, especially when you pull back to do a 1-2 or 3-4 shift and you wind up elbowing the arm rest, banging your funny bone.)

I sanded off the 6-speed shift pattern and polished it up a bit. I tried giving it to Frankenstang, but she didn't like it, either. No lovin' for the Cobra knob. Thus, it's getting stored in the plastic bag in the closet full of about four or five other knobs I've tried and disliked over the years.

I liked it, it just didn't screw (heh...) on all the way.

I have a "Fat Knob" I got for about 10 bucks. Stays nice and cool and has a good weight to it.

I used to have the Hurst white cue ball. It split in half on me right where they mold the two pieces together. Tried glueing it with no luck. I'm using the old crappy t-handle for now.

you cant go wrong with a plain old black ball

smooth, simple, and CHEAP.

how cheap you say? they are 8 bucks!

if you just slap it on you will have some threads of your shifter handle showing, i cut some threads off my handle so the knobs come all the way down and meets the boot.

so it makes the shifter shorter so it shortening the throw by a bit kinda sorta lol

Isn't that one of those universal Dorman HELP! brand knobs? I've seen those at Checker and Autozone, but the thread sizes listed on there didn't look big enough to fit...

I'd run one of those on mine and not care about the threads showing - just get a longer boot (one of those universals or something), since the stocker is usually all beat up and split n' stuff, anyway.

Does that $8 knob get very hot/cold?

my concern with the 05 is how they fit with the shifter boot. The 05 has a round base thing on it and my boot is more square up top

Does anyone know if the '04 GT leather shifter knob will fit on an '07? I really liked the look with the subtly pressed-in shift pattern. I don't see them online anywhere, but I'm sure I can scavenge one from a junkyard, if they'll even fit. Thanks.

That's the one I was looking for, but I noticed you're in a fox. Does anyone know if that type will fit an '07 threads? I think they're 12mm X 1.25. Thanks.
