my MGW shifters instructions said not to use the shift stops as teh 3650 has internal ones. Said using the supplied shift stops could do more damage than not using them. Of course that all depends on how they're adjusted.

I'm with you, I just installed a TXI-AX shifter last night (best thing I've done to my car in a long time, feels like a new car). The shift stops are to stop from overextending while shifting, but to set them properly you have to press as hard as you can in each gear and set the bolt so that it don't touch the shifter. Whats the point? If I'm pushing as hard as I can and set it so it don't touch, I don't see what the reason for having them.

The 3650 tranny has internal stops so yeah, you don't need them.

The 3650 has gear stops, it's still possibly to overshift and bend something in the shift linkage.

I didn't set my stops at all, but i kept them close just in case. I'm still letting my trans rely on the factory gear stops, i just set the shifter stops "sloppy" just in case
