Shifter Knob Removal??????

BluThunder99:

Put the selector in "1" so you can get access to a tiny allen screw that is near the bottom of the plastic handle. Loosen it, it does not have to come all the way out. Then, very carefully, twist it clockwise and counter-clockwise while GENTLY pulling up. You have to be careful not to yank the thing off because the OD switch wires (a pair) are quite fine and can be snapped. Once the knob is off, you will find a thin plastic sleeve that covers the metal shaft and hides the wire that is routed down into the bottom plate area. Fish around and you will find the connection for the OD switch wires.

That's it.

************Be carefull like he said!!!!! Because I broke my wires trying to get the switch out of the holder not when taking the knob off.... Found that you can not solder the wires because the car knows the resistance of the wires if not right and goes in and out of overdrive all by itself. I had to install a new switch :nonono:
