Hi! I recently purchased a 1995 Lazer Red GT! When I got the car home I looked in the trunk and found what appeared to be a stock shifter. The one in the car now feels like it has rings or a round hole the size of a nickel in the body of the shifter. I am feeling these through the boot, so I am not sure if this is what they are. So I am asking does the stock shifter feel like it has rings or is this some aftermarket shifter? And if it is what kind? The car is a 5-speed by the way!
Thanks!

no, the stock one has no holes, you eaither have a handle the someone installed, or someone put in a whole shifter, just take a look, the cover snaps off, and then tehres a few bolts

if you pull the leather cover and shifter bezel off and take a picture i can tell you what kind of shifter it is. If you can slide the leather boot down the handle, if the color of it is blue it is a steeda

pull the shifter bezel at the bottom or the base of it an pull up and out an it will pop right out.

make sure to remove the shifter knob first though! it will not come off otherwise... and do the front part first, the clips closest to the ashtray/drinkholder... the others are simple once that one gets off...
