Shifter questions and opinions

Ok well I was thinking about getting a short throw shifter and dont really need anything special or fancy just something that is a shorter throw then mine. I saw these on ebay what do you guys think?

from what ive heard and seen, shifters are something u dont want to cheap out on .....

yeah i wouldn't want to cheap out on a shifter especially cause your cars pretty nice now.

i always read about people saying they wish they didnt buy _____ and just bought the more expensive but better quality ______.

I have a tri-ax...no complaints at all from me. I'm actually extremely happy with it.

going through the gears doesn't require much effort at all...just move down, up, then down again and you're in fourth.

Granted...I never used the tri-ax on a stock tranny..just a 3550...but I'm sure it's similar.

I've heard good things about the b&m as well..

neither will disappoint

I was reading about Hurst, who has a shifter with 'self-centering' action.

They said it was almost impossible to miss the 2-3 shift; or any other for that matter.

Tri-Ax's are good too.

Hurst has some kind of "self-centering" thing, but Pro 5.0 has the best, as far as I know.

MGW isn't a bad option either. Just cause of the options you can have with it.

Ok I am decieded. I will not cheap out on this. lol. Out of curiousity.... ANyhting that can be cheaped out on? lol I am pretty much hard up as hell on cash and really need to do something! lol

reading the mods in your sig, and i've seen pictures on here before.

unless you like to travel north in your spare time i haven't seen it in person. haha.

I've used Hurst and MGW shifters in my cars and driven other cars with Pro 5.0s, they are all pretty nice, but the MGW was my favorite.

5.0 here and love it!

At first I thought I was nuts spending that much $$$ on a shifter, but it has literally made the car much more fun to drive.

With a Pro 5.0, you should never miss a 2-3 shift again. Overall, shifting is quicker and a ton more accurate.

No comment on anything else but the stock shifter. I went with the 5.0 because of the positive reviews and dozens of posts stating it was high quality and no regrets.

I think you will find benefit from any of shifters these folks have mentioned. I bought a B&M pro ripper and cant complain. I think all of the shifters mentioned have different spring rates for side to side action (make the shifter move to center when in neutral). My pro ripper allowed a changed between a stiff and super stiff spring, but the regular ripper that was in my car was not able to adjust side to side stiffness. I still have that regular b&m ripper if you want it cheap. There is nothing wrong with it, I just didnt realize it was in there before I ordered my pro ripper when I first bought the car... The handle is a one piece (non length adjustable like the pro-ripper) but otherwise I would have no complaints with it. If youre still in the market and interested in it I can email you pics or something. Just PM and let me know.

I do travel alot north. Probably not in your area anyways. However I was just curious, lol.
