I've heard many good things about PRO 5.0, TRI-AX, UPR B&M RIPPER shifters What is the best??

What all has to be done to swap?? Also MustangTuning has their shifter on sale for 120, that a reasonable shifter or should i just try pro 5.0 or tri-ax??

really a matter of preference, I prefer the pro5.0 over all the others I have tried, while some prefer others.If you take your shifter knob off and pull the bezel off, you will see how simple the install is.Some people get the pro5.0 shifter with the tri-ax handle because it is longer.

The Steeda is ok but it feels more like it clicks out and then into gear. Friends with the 5.0 do not have that problem. They are both nice shifters but I would like to try the 5.0

Don't forget to add MGW's new shifter into the mix. Very cool. Just installed one last week. If you need a used, but in great condition Pro 5.0 email me. You could get one for a bargain!

I have a Hurst Billet Plus in my '04 and it is great. That is really all you are going to get here....opinions. No one shifter is "better" than the other so to speak. Kinda like, which is better? Coke or Pepsi

Well, the one thing about the mustangtuning shifter is that it doesnt include a shifter handle if I am correctly reading the ad. Id stick to something like the Steeda Triax, cause its almost the same price. I got a great deal on my triax a while back so thats what I went with. Good luck, I hear that the pro 5.0 has a more racy feel to it where the steeda is more like stock feeling, just with the spring loaded 3rd gear. I like mine, except 5th is kinda weird still. Oh well. Good luck.

I have a Pro 5.0 with a MGW handle. With the Pro 5.0 handle, I liked the short throws, but I hated the handle placement. This current combo rocks!

i have the pro 5.0 and here's my take: it's a solid shifter, and seems pretty indestructible. the thing i do'nt like about it is that the tolerances are so tight that i really have to slam it into gear so i'll sometimes miss a shift and completely blow a whole race. i'm going to try the MGW when it comes out because the mustang's shifter is just too far forward for me.

Well called MGW today and they have gotten all the parts back from the plater, and my shifter hopefully will ship out thursday!

I have the B&M Ripper set to it's rear most setting with a T-handle from CDC. It's a tight shifter and goes into gear pretty solid. I really like it. The only downside I can think of is that it's a one piece handle. You're stuck with the one it comes with.

Congrats! You'll love the shifter. The thing is awesome! The only downside is that your shift boot will cover the beautiful machinery!!!!!!!!

PRO 5.0 Shifter handle

Pro 5.0 also makes a medium lenth shifter handle to replace the short handle that comes with it originally.
