I am putting in my new shifter.I am having trouble with the stops.I put it in 3rd and tighten bolt down with fingers till contact with shifter handle is made.........then what????Back out how much\how many turns????????
Put it in 3rd, tighten till it barely makes contact. Back out 1 full turn. Push shifter all the way forward to be sure it doesn't hit the stop bolt constantly as you shift to 3rd (should be very close but not hitting it). Place in 4th or 5th and repeat with the rear stop bolt.
I got both by accident wife bought one that was tops on poll and I bought 5.0 on ebay.Just by fooling with them out of the box they are dammmm near the same shifter.Im putting my old hurst handle and ball on cause I like the angle of the hurst handle!!!!!
eh, sorry bro i got confused between this thread and the dude askin about his new MGW. Hence the RTFM comment, i'd forgotten you had got both. congrats on the install! If you were using the stock shifter i'm sure you're gonna be amazed with the new one!
