i was wondering what kind of short-throw shifters you guys have installed, what you think of them, or what you would recommend.
i am going to install one in my 2003 V6 and i think it would be well worth it! i was originally going to go with the steeda tri-ax, then i heard about the new one from MGW, and there's plenty of others. so i thought the best thing to do would be to ask around!
thanks a lot!

I dont really know much about the MGW's, but most went with the pro 5.0s or the steedas. If you're looking for a used one in good condition, pm me.

MGW's looks really nice especially with the interchangeable handles on it but I dont know how that will hold up in the long run no matter what kind of lock washers you use on it.

I can see it being tortured to the extreme by some people and then slipping roundy roundy on them no matter how tight they go.

would be better if the handles were splined like on steering wheels....still fully adjustable positioning and no chance of spinning on the shaft at that point.

but this is just me.

Steeda Tri-Ax. One of the best shifters out there.
If your going to get a shifter, get either the Steeda or the Pro-5.9 unit.

I have owned and drove every brand out there.. at least the ones worth trying.

the B&M is a great shifter, but its not as springy as some, and its a little shorter throw (which means faster shifts) but this may be to short for your tastes.

the Steeda Tri-ax is a great shifter that is springy and very positive feeling, however is comes with road noise... which is annoying... if you leave the little ring off it may just about all be solved, an extra sound deadening pad over the base of the shifter will probably eliminate the noise, the shorts are NOT as short as the B&M but they are easier to shift, the handle is closer to your.

the pro 5.0 is nice, about like the steeda minus not much road noise... but the shifter handle SUCKS its horrible to reach for...

Go with the steeda, leave the little pos ring off the shifter base (you will see) and lay over it an extra layer of sound deadener you will love it.

go to www.stangshifters.com and tell him spectorv from the forums sent you.
