I have a problem with missing second. I pull it down form 1st and it will not slide in to 2nd some times. Wonder what i am doing wrong. This is only when i am really getting on it. I have a pro 50 shifter. am i pulling off the clutch too fast? What do you guys think. ever had this problem

Also any time i get over about 110 or 120 my hood shakes pretty bad. anything i can do to fix this. any bolts or anything i can tighten down?

yea it makes me real mad when i am riding with one of my friends and a ricer pulls up next to me and starts to act like he wants to race. i smoke him in 1st and want to really piss him off by making the lead about 10+ cars in 2nd and it takes me 2 trys to drop her in 2nd gear.

Does it seem to hit a stop near the bottom of 2nd, then actually have 1/2 inch or so to get into gear? This is what my TR-3650 does, and it is worse (of course) when you're gettin' on it. It's aggrivating, but I'm hesitant (as always) to take it to Ford to have anything "fixed" - sometimes comes out worse than when it went in.

man!! I have the same problem, when im cruising its cool, but when i want to womp on some rice and i slam it into second either it takes 2 trys or its just grinds in, but my foot is all the way slammed on the clutch pedal, what gives??

2nd gear not easy

I have the same problem with my 96 cobra and always thought it was just me but like you said it is very embarasing and if you figure what we can do different let me know please. You lose too many cool points when you grind your gears!!! :notnice:

If it is when you are just starting to drive your car, maybe the transmission has not warmed up yet. When your engine is warm, your tranny is warm. If not, some serious damage to your synchros can occur. I have always had this shift problem, until I realized that everytime that it happens, its when my car isnt warm yet.
