Shipping Vehicle By Train

Hi Guys,

Has anyone ever shipped a vehicle from Alberta to Nova Scotia via train? If so, what company did you use and how much did it cost? I am looking to get a vehicle shipped down from Grand Prairie, Alberta to St. John's, Newfoundland. I had numerous quotes for shipment via trailer, but they were in the $2500 range. I have heard that it is cheaper to use a train, then pick the vehicle up in Halifax. I was also considering a plane ticket to Alberta, then driving home, but that would require taking time off work (over a week) and would probably cost $1500 or more for the ticket, gas, hotels, etc.

If I had the choice I would drive it, It would be a great experience. More than worth the cash it would cost.

be carefull b/c the chances of getting Rail dust (small rust spots) is very high by train, use a car carrier, or a trailer IMO..
