Well, my car finally has 71000 miles on it. This winter the shocks have been making all kind of sounds. The rear doesn't seem to bounce too bad, but it doesn't take much to push it down and it slowly comes back up. If I push real hard on rear, I can hear like a thump or something. What shocks do you all recommend? I have been told that KYB are made much better than the old Autozone Gabriels. Let me know what you think, Thanks
While KYB is alot better than autozone crap. It's the lowest of the good ones if you know what I mean. If you want the best get Bilsteins, most people don't wann a spend that much money. Tokiko, koni, Strange engineering are all good. Pretty much anything you see advertised by aftermarket preformance distributors will be way better than monroe or gabriel.
Well, I got my KYB GR2's this afternoon, was going to put them on myself like I did on my other Mustang that I used to have. Started and couldn't get the bottom torx head bolt loose. I borrowed a special socket that holds the top of the flat-sided shock shaft still, but the bottom bolt wouldn't let me win. Taking it to my shop in the morning to get that stuck bolt out. Sure hope they help the ride quality some. Will let you know when i get back from shop.
Well, KYB's are definetely better than my stock. Rear suspension is much tighter now. Wish I could afford new struts. Aaah, the new car feel (but better).
