Just wondering where you can buy a short shifter and if it is worth the change.. also how to install it. Thanks

The UPR Blu Thunder shifter is supposed to be a real nice piece. It's also a little cheaper than the steeda tri-ax (which I have and can personally recommend as an excellent mod). They are both machined from the same material so that shouldn't be an issue.

After getting your shifter check into my gaskets. Usually, with an aftermarket shifter you will get a lot more noise and vibration coming from the tranny. My gaskets fix this problem right up. I would suggest looking at either the Pro 5.0 or the Steeda Tri-Ax. Both are very good shifters and you will definitely love the way shifting feels after getting either of the two. Right now I am currently working on a how-to for the installation of an aftermarket shifter. I will be taking pics and everything. I will post it once I get done with it. Good luck man.

From what I've heard the Pro 5.0, Steeda Tri-ax, and UPR Blure thunder are all pretty much the same excepct for the handles. and the price. The onl one I can speak for is the Pro 5.0, it kicks ass. He's right though it is loud.

Yeah, I have the Pro 5.0 and I love it! Downside of all shifters is that they are too loud. My gaskets fix this problem though so there is really no downside to having a short shifter.

any aftermarket shifter is better than stock ... takes about 10 min to install

when you say loud what is making the loud noise? In the shifter or in the tran. what type of noise is it? can u hear it outside the car and is it really annoying? thanks guys for all your help

The stock shifter has a rubber seal to block transmission noises. An aftermarket shifter doesn't so you will hear transmission noise. If I run 3rd gear around 4K rpms it gets kinda annoying. You get use to it though.

I have the pro 5.0 and is some of the best money I have spent on my car.

Yup, the noise you hear is like a whining sound. Makes the car sound like a UPS truck or something. Thats what I hated the most. Vibration is also increased. In second gear my shifter would make an awful buzzing sound. I fabbed up those gaskets and all the noises and vibration went away.

I just recently got around to taking pictures of the installation process for my shifter gaskets. Those of you installing aftermarket shifters should be able to use the directions and pics also. Only part I left out was setting the stops. Its a fairly simple process that is covered in detail with the directions that came with your shifter. If anyone needs more help, let me know. i got a steeda tri-ax and i love it the noise is the gears winding up in the tranny and a litte road noise but not bad. taking the rubber boot of the old shifter and streching it over the new one helps keep the sound down you might have to open the hole up a litte more depending on which one you buy .

and dude if you dont shut the #### up (keep it g rated) about the god **** gasket i am going to well nothing cuz its online but you need to chill the #### out.
