Looking for recommendations on a short throw shifter. What I want is a buttery smooth shifter. Trying to get away from the notchy feel of the stock shifter. I have heard good things about MGW.

Any good recommendations?

MGW is considered the best shifter out there, though I have a tri ax and have been very happy and pleased with it.

I have a hurst Billet, and am very happy with it. Though, I second that MGW is regarded as the best. (never felt one)

If your looking for buttery shifts. You may want to change your transmission oil. I put in Royal Purple Sychromax and it improved the feel. I have also heard great things about Redline's MTL, though not sure if that works in our transmission.

I'd say go with the MGW it is lightyears ahead of the stock shifter. The adjustability of the handle along with the adjustable throw is extremely nice.

Adding the MGW short throw to my 05 mustang was one of the best mods I've made. Also got the GT knob from MGW.

Are the MGW knobs worth the money they charge for them?

I think so...I really like the feel of my composite racing knob, plus the GT emblem is a nice addition to the interior.

MGW is the smoothest shifter out there, hands down. Anything you get from them is made of top shelf materials. Anything they sell in chrome is triple chrome plated. All bolts and hardware is either stainless steel, billet, and anodized. Their shifter is the only one available that strays away from the norm in design. You won't regret it, worth every dime.

I heard some bad reviews on the tri-ax so I've tried to find them online but haven't been able to. It was either the tri-ax or the mgw for me, but I was wondering if any of you heard about the steeda?

I had the Steeda Triax in my car for about a year. I hated it. Hitting 3rd gear was a chore and the shifter buzzed just to name 2 of the problems. I switched to the MGW and never looked back. It took me several months to let my guard down and just trust the new shifter. That's how screwed up the Triax had me at 490rwhp.
