Shorties vs. LTs

NA, no choice, shorties are worth nadda, except for a few bloody knuckles, and a lot of swearing. Some people go with them with a blower, though I dont reccomend it for any setup. I gained around 2rwhp with ported PI heads, raised compression, and cams. Go longtubes, or save your money for something else.

Shorties give you gains of next to nothing(Con)

Shorties are not a easy install(Con)

Shorties will look slightly better than stock manifolds, but can't really be seen all that well(Pro, kinda:shrug: )

LT's are a real PITA to install and require the engine to be lifted up to create clearance(Con)

LT's hang low, ground clearance issue if your car has a big drop on it(Con)

LT's make tranny removals more involved in most cases(Con)

LT's make good power, especially when coupled with F/I(Pro)

LT's look awesome(Pro)

LT's give awesome sound, really the true American Muscle sound when added to the right exhaust components(Pro)

Overall I say go with the LT's because you will be really be disappointed when you spend alot of time and money installing Shorties and don't get any real gains from them.

I am looking into getting LT's soon, but my car is DUMPED, so I dunno how my ground clearance would be?? What LT's offer the largest amount of clearance? Im not too worried about the smog issues of LT's because I will be running high flow cats. LT's on a 32V give awesome gains...A guy I know has an 03 Mach with LT's, intake spacer, JLT, off road x, catback & a tune & he is putting down 330 RWHP....

nothing an exhuast shop cant fix. the headers will run slightly lower, but any exhuast shop can tighten the whole system up, including your mid pipe and cat back with dumps to make it fit closer to the body.
