Should I buy hypertech programmer for $200?

Friend just sold his gt and is trying to sell me his programmer. He bought it new for $375. Should I buy it for 200?

Depends, if it is still "married" to his old GT then it is just good for keeping papers from blowing off your desk...

If it is not still married to his old GT, it is still a Hypertech

Save up another $150 and get an SCT Xcal2 for $350.

What is wrong w/ hypertech and what will the differences be? I'm not questioning your opinion..I'm just ignorant on programmers.

I have heard bad things about them...

The current consensus seems to be that SCT > all

I dont know much about the hypertech for the mustang. but it did little to nothing for the f-bodies.

the sct2 will grow with you. you can go to a dyno and have the car flashed with a custom made tube at anytime.

for this reason and the track record of hypertech products for other car i would buy the sct2

not for $200. go $150 tops.

the hyperteck does not do as much as the diablo or sct.

you can get used diablo's off ebay for $250 and it will turn off you traction control, diable rear o2's, datalog, etc. way more features.

the sct can even be upgraded to the pro racer package.

Dang..Well I guess I'll tell him nevermind. Heh..Do you think I should get a programmer first or put the money towards suspension?

That's your call, what suspension components are you talking about? Do the stock parts have an urgent need to be replaced?

if it were me, i would get the tuner or a tune. I would want to know how cai and o/r exhaust are affecting air/fuel ratio.

I have stock everything w/ suspension. But nothing needs replaced. I would really like to do something to hook up better and the car needs to be lowered some.
