Should I get a new tranny or rebuild?

Hello all, new to the board. I need some help on deciding whether I should rebuild or buy a tranny. I have an 01 must. GT with an auto tranny. The tranny leaks like crazy and the tranny slips. The car has 125,000 miles. I am the og. owner. I do not know of a good repair shop. SHould I go online and buy a new tranny and have ford put it in, or go to the dealership and have them rebuild the tranny. I am a student so money is tight. What do you recommend. THanks.

You can rebuild your 4r70w and make it stronger internally than before and it'll be cheaper than buying an entire new one.

I went with a rebuild (upgraded clutches and such) and its been working great ever since

Have it rebuilt.....put in a good shift kit and stall and you will be happier that ever!
