This thing cam with my supercharger and I was told that all I need to do to fix it is splice a wire. How can i tell if its working or not? This cam with no instructions and a bunch of wires, can anyone tell me how to install? I know its good for timing control so I figured I might as well put it on now so i dont have to install supercharger and everything all at once.

The following information is on the msdignition web site.

overview of msd 6btm.
http://www.msdignition.com/ignition_7.htm

Installation instructions:
http://www.msdignition.com/pdf/6series.pdf

msd 6btm addendum
http://www.msdignition.com/pdf/pn_6462.pdf

I'm in the market to buy one of these. I'll being installing mine in about two weeks. Good luck and have fun.

By the way, you can test if this unit is working by using a timing light and have a friend apply boost pressure to the inlet port of the unit. The timing should retard by the amount of "boost" you set by the knob per pound of "boost" applied to unit. For example, if you have the knob set at 1.5, the timing will be retarded by 3 degrees when boost is at 2psi. FYI, to apply boost to the inlet port, you can use a SilverLine Mitty Vac with pressure attachment. I'm sure there are other ways. I haven't read through the instructions completely, but I'm sure they'll show you how to test the unit.

Good luck,
