Should I let my mustang go?

I have to slightly disagree here.

I do agree that of the 2 cars the RX-7 has more value. But by getting rid of the Stang that makes the RX-7 your DD thus negating all the reasons for keeping it. So if you ditch the Stang I would suggest getting some cheap reliable transportation as a DD because there is no way you should be driving this car everyday and racking up miles.

The plan is to DD it until my wife gets a new car. That should be by the end of the year hopefully. That way I can use her old one as my DD.

Def need to keep the 7.... auto stangs are a dime a dozen and frankly can't be anywhere near as fun as the 7. Good luck.

I have to be carefull when I enter highways... I looked at the speedo after merging the other day and I hit 100 without even realizing it. It's also fun in the corners even with it's worn out shocks. I'll replace them soon, but the cost is a little high.

4 koni yellows are around $600. Then you need 4 top shock mounts at 65 a piece plus shipping. Then labor.

Don't even ask about bushings. I had to import a set of Super Pro's for $535, but that doesn't include the 6 pillow balls in the rear. It's around $500 for them once you add in the dust seals and shipping.

I would not recommend relying on an RX-7 as your only car and daily driver. If you have to get rid of one of them, get rid of the Mustang, but buy something cheap to replace it.

I repeat: do NOT rely on an RX-7 as your daily driver!

Yeah, I know... I plan on using it as a DD for 6 months or so. I actually have 3 cars, so I could rely on my wife in case it breaks down.

How many of you guys have had Mazda rotaries?

My buddy had one last til 200k without anything but oil changes.

The more you drive it, the longer the seals will last, but you cannot beat on a stock motor.

I still think selling the GT and getting a Honda or cheap DD would suffice.

Good luck with your decision!
