Should I sell my mustang?

I have seriously been thinking about selling it for awhile. It has gotten where it seems to break faster than I can fix it. For the last year it has had a problem with the idle and loss of power, I I just keep dumping money into it and it not helping. A couple of days ago it randomly backfired on me and scared me pretty bad, the car died when it happened. So I parked it in the driveway since than and drove my dads truck. Went to start it tonight and it made some weird noise. I than tried to give it some gas and the throttle was locked up. I popped the hood and couldn't move the throttle at all with my hands. I'm at the point now that I'm going to just dump money into a car for no results. I might as well sell my mustang and buy something I want. I want to go with a fox. I really don't care about how comfortable it is, I expect it to ride like a go kart. Too me it is a mustang, if I want comfortable I'd get a luxury car. I just really don't know what do. Should I put the mustang in the shop and have it fixed? When it might just break in a week.

Sorry for the long post, I'm just at a complete loss.

Of course all of us are going to tell you to keep it, because most of us love that car. It all depends on you...

I really love the car. But it is getting old. It just seems to give me nothing but problems

I don't think anyone who doesn't work on thier own car should have a modified car. Modified cars break. It happens. Swapping a throttlebody isn't brain surgery, if I didn't know how to do that I probably wouldn't want my car either.

When stuff gets old and breaks, that just gives you a reason to upgrade with performance parts. When my intake crossover started pissing coolant, I ended up doing a full ported and polished head,cam, and intake swap.

Why do you think that a fox wont break parts etc. I mean a 93 is 7+ years older then a new edge and parts will also break. Its your call because its your call. You truly know what you want! Best of luck!

The car has had continuous issues for a bit now and has been freequently repaired by him and me. This was something new and I imagine hes just sick of dealing with THAT car.

A running car sells for more then a non running car.
I know it seems the car has had alot of problems but I always suspected most of them came from that crappt t-body or C&L upper intake. Go to a junk yard or online and find a stock setup and slap it on there. When you had the problem I was serious when I said start it and let me hear it, I didnt know at the time it was that bad. I guess I have to come over and check it out.

Bill I'm getting searching craigslist for the stock throttle body and plenum. I think the one is ugly, I like the stock one. Oh and I want an LS1, But I have worked on. That's reason enough for me to not want one.
I really got to thinking about it and talked to some friends about it. And as much as I hate the car and it breaks down. I hate the thought of not having it more. After I fix this problem with the throttle body the mustang is going to the shop to be fixed. Though I kinda think it is the O2 sensors , so they will be ordered this week.

Dude i had kinda the same prob with my car. It was popping and cuting out and ALL it was, was the TB. Man don't get discouraged. Cars have issues all the time. Mine is in some serious need of TLC because i was in a kind of academy for 8 months and couldn't keep up with my car. Now its in the shop getting some stuff done that i cannot do due to the lack of certain tools and it'll be fine after i get it back. Oh and don't get an LS1

each car has its problems and quirks> NON run the same non drive the same and all will have to be worked on at some point > step back and look at the car is it what you want ? is it worth fixing to you? if you can't say YES > then sell it > if you do say YES that take each problem the car gives you one at a time and fix them as they come > if you can't fix the problem then have a buddy take a look at it > if all else fails then to the shop>
I have to say I have owned many many cars> probley more than most on this forum and if you give up on your stang you'll be sorry down the road > yes there is a time to up grade > that being said > look at my avitar> I bought my current car and never got to here it run > I never drove it > nothing the first thing I did to it was pull the motor apart to fix the heads in it . your will is the only thing that will make your car what you want it to be .

i can tell the car has sentimental value, so i would tell you to keep it IF there is not something else out there that you want more. i just sold my notch and i miss the car but the one i have now is what i've wanted for a long time. just stay in the mustang family, don't get an ls1...

Put a FRPP TB on it and you know its gonna work...... The C&L is not the
problem, it has no moving parts. Stick with the Ford TB. What happened to
your original set up anyway. I still have mine in the garage in case I want
to return to stock when I go to sell the car.

in all seriousness , fix your car and enjoy it , i for one know how much of a bitch idle problems are , my car used to stall at almost every stop(unless revved slightly) , 7 days a week because i was too lazy to fix it , once you fix it and get it all sorted it you will feel much better about yourself , fix it , see how you feel then decide.

He will keep it and fix it. I have been repainting and recarpeting a house the last two weeks so I havent had the time to go over to his house and check it out. I think he ordered a stock t-body for it. The car had most of its mods already when he bought it so he does not have any of the stock parts except for the exhaust and springs that I installed on it for him.
He should keep the car because its kind of a sad story how he got the money to purchase the car.

I love his car though and would trade my perfectly running Mark VIII for it even though his isnt running. Its a sweet ass car.

Cars break, it's a fact. Doesnt matter what you own really. Some just break more than others.

I'm sure that once you get all the bugs worked out of it, she will be just fine. There are plenty of mustangs out there, including my own, that are a perfect example of how stupid reliable these things are. I just wish the fuel economy was better.

Bought mine 62k, currently has 137,xxx. Other than maint and mods, parts replaced include thermostat, battery and IAC. Thats it.

I should have the stock throttle body and plenum within the next couple of days. Thirty bucks of eBay. The C&L and Accufab that are on it, I don't like. I just think they just look ugly under the hood. The stock is hawt. Though now I'm kicking myself for buying my GT, I came close to getting a torch fire red mach 1. But it is was before I knew mustangs and was told they weren't that special
