I think I know the answer before I even asked this but I wanted to throw it out there anyways. In my sig is my mods so far but were all for the most part done by the previous owner. I was told that it does have a chip in it but I don't have any paperwork on it or anything (which from the shape of the car I was surprised to see). I know it does have something done to it because I have the off-road H pipe with quad oxygen sensors. I took it by Dallas Mustang and they told me they could find out what it was but it would cost a pretty penny and was probably worth it just for me to buy a tuner and go from there. Anybody know how I can figure out what it has now or whatnot? Also I use 87 pump gas here as well and have had no problems with pinging or knocking. Am I tempting fate here or could I keep using the cheapo college kid gas?

^That.

Computer is under the passenger side kick pannel. Disconnect the negative battery terminal then unbolt the harness to the computer and slip it out. On the top of the computer you will see a chip. If its an open port then the car was done with a hand held OR has no tune at all. If you dont have any MIL then I am sure it has a tune.
Personally I dont like chips for OBDII cars and would get a used XCal for the car.
Call up Andy at Gearheads Performance in Arlington. He can hook yo up with a dyno tune and Xcal for your car. The man knows his chit and used to work at SCT. They only work on Mustangs there .... well a couple F-bodies but there are at least 40- 4v cars in his lot waiting for mods. They tuned my Mark and got me 160hp boost after tuning my blower. Should have only been a 100-120hp gain. They have done my last two Cobras as well and driveability is top notch!

some shops can burn chips, it just depends, If its a cheap chip and your shop cant burn it, just unplug it and buy a tuner
