Ok ive got a block with the D4AE-AA casting i plan on building a pretty decent 351 is this block ok to start with or should i keep my search for the 94-97 roller 351? (went to a junkyard and saw like 10 econoline vans fitting the bill but all of them had the motor pulled Then went to a yard where they pull it and they told me 800 dollars for a one but all i want is the short block so i passed)

What do you mean "pretty decent"? Its just a matter of a roller cam or not.

I would keep looking for roller blocks. The junkyard that had one would they sell you the whole car for 800? If so then you could part out the rest to make some money back for your short block?

$800 does sound pricey, but I think you answered your own question. Patience is a virtue, and from my experience, its probably the most precious commodity in this hobby. Just look at the SN65 thread to see the delays that Bob has dealt with in order to ultimately get the results he wants.
We all get a little impatient at times when we have a concept and money burning a whole in our pockets, but be patient and wait for the right deal. I can assure you that you'll be happier at the end of the day.
