alright, ive been having this problem for a while and i figured since i was putting a new motor in i would check the throwout bearing. well let me tell you the problem first. the car drives fine and shifts fine. the clutch is adjusted properly as far as i can tell, but the clutch pedal has a really bad vibration to it. i can adjust it out but than the clutch grabs all the way at the top. when i pulled the motor i took the throwout bearing out and checked it out and couldnt find anything wrong with it, so i had two buddies who are mechanics in the area look at it and they said nothing was wrong with it...so we put it back in. i dont know if a vibration is what i would call it. the pedal kind of pops and you can hear it, it only does it as the rpms start to get past like 2500. im hoping its not the flywheel because its only like a year old and i dont see how it would just warp like that. someone give me some insight here because everyone i talk to even guys who have owned like 15 mustangs have no idea what it is. thanks guys

I don't see how the TOB or linkage could be the problem. How about the pilot berring, that could cause some issues. If it wasn't installed straight and true then it would cause all kinds of problems. If that is good then definatly look towards the flywheel. Did you torque the pressureplate evenly and to spec?

yeah, the pressure plate was installed correctly as was the pilot bearing. i had a shop install my tko when it was put it and they put a new pilot bearing in and it was fine for i dont know how long before i started getting this problem. i didnt get the flywheel resurfaced even though i should have when we put the new motor in. i just wanted the damn thing in and running. im lost, everything on my car is breaking now. damn tranny leaks from the speedo cable, front seat bolt just broke, i get a really bad vibration from the rear end at like 75 mph. damn old cars

Unfortunatly, the only way your going to find out the problem is by taking it all back out.

I had a vibrating clutch pedal problem but it was my clutch cable not being tight enough against the quadrant. It would rattle/vibrate. I tightened it up with a FWA and all was good. You say you don't think that is your problem though

I doubt it is the flywheel...your probably more likely to get vibrations from a resurfacing than leaving it as is IMO.

Good Luck and I hope you get it figured out. I know what you mean about the "old cars".
