Hey guys. I'd like to eventually run Steeda side exhaust, but I also want some quality subframes on my car. Does anyone know of subframes that are made to allow side exhaust routing? I had seen some back in my foxbody days, but I don't know if there are any for the 04s. Any info would be awesome!

Spintech used to make some stepped ones to fit their side exhaust, but I haven't seen them advertised in a while.

you pretty much have to make custom ones as far as i can tell w/ my set up, and turn around designs take up even more room - so i dunno

I had these installed when I had side exhaust. Fit was good.

Same dilemma im having. Is there any way you could just notch the subframe connectors and weld in re-inforcements in them ?

I would think that any modification to the original design will do nothing but compromise their strength. I want ones that are made to be strong with the side exhaust tolerances already built in.

ME- how did they feel? Did you notice a stiffer overall feel? I had mid-lengths in my 87 and I definitely noticed a difference in handling and launches.

and they're not full length, hence no real subframe connection

im suprised roush doesnt make SFC's to clear their exhaust setup. i doubt roush guys with side exhaust are just left out to dry when it comes to subframes just because of side exhaust, im sure theres real solutions out there.........

Roush does make SFCs, but they're not full length and they look pretty damn weak to me.

Just get frame tubes for the exhaust so you can enjoy both. Either the entire exhaust piece being flat-oval, or just a portion to clear the SFCs.

Yes. All sub frame connectors are is square peices of metal welded to the bottom of the car. Go to any welding, fabrication, or race car shop and they will be able to make you a set that will work with your exhaust.
