i can't get the side glass to go into the door. it jams with about 1" of glass left sticking out too far...... any help would be appreciated. also does it go in from the outside or inside of the door?

are you talking about the quarter window? if so, they're held on by 6-8 bolts from the inside, and have a line of black weather sealant around the actual window part.

EDIT:

just realized you're talking about the door window. it goes in easiest from the outside of the door. just gotta work it in

I removed one from a wrecked door before, and I had to actually bend the inner door panel to get it out with the metal piece at the bottom attached. Is it just the glass, or is the metal track attached to the bottom? Did you remove all the weatherstripping and if the track is attached, the metal inner window guides? I just remember having to really work on it and thinking it was not worth the $20 I sold it for! I don't recall which way I pulled it out either. Hopefuilly someone else has more experience.

Good luck!

The guidetrack the part the felt that the galss rides in, that is down in the door unbolts if I remember right. It will be the front part of the track. You start with the front edge kinda pointing down at an angle. WHen you get the glass to where the metal track you may have to spred the sheet metal of the door just alittle bit. It does take some finess. But it will go just take your time. On tempered glass is very strong with the exception of the edge. You can tap tempered glass on the edge with something hard and it will just crumble into a million little pieces. So if you get the glass in a bind becareful . I can not remember which side the glass goes in from. I want to say the inside but I am not 100%.

solved! i searched and read 8 pages worth of threads, but they didn't help, so this is for anyone else in the future who has to do this...

the side glass installs from the outside of the door, cut the old bracket off of the used window (if you have a used one). trying to drill out the rivets inside the door was a waste of time i found, i ended up using a dremmel to cut the rivet heads off, then punching them out. tip the front edge of the glass down, inserting towards the front of the car. i needed help to pull the inside skin of the door out about 1/2", and the track the mounting bracket mounts to about 1/2" also. it's a really tight fit, but it eventually worked. thanks to all for the help, especially PUNISHER RACING
