Well, I decided I'd start putting my vortech back in today and be finished with it by the end of friday night. Nope....

I was trying to take my oil pressure sender out so I could use a T-fitting on the oil pressure boss. I got the sensor off but the reducer fitting (BRASS) I used was left in the block. So I went to try and get that off and the thing snapped off on me. The male portion of the threads are stock in the block.

I had a 3/8 NC tap and it made a sort of tapered tap because I didn't go through all the way. Threaded a 3/8 bolt into the fitting and put some locktite on it. I'm going to try and get it to come out by backing the bolt out. I doubt it'll work but hopefully it will.

My question: is there any way I can get this thing out of there without having to retap the oil pressure boss? If the threadlocker doesn't work I'm going to try some JBweld and see if that works.

Thanks for any ideas.

problem solved:

I went to sears and got a bolt extractor. It looks kinda like a punch except it has 4 edges on the shaft. The edges have a cut on them so they can dig into the screw.

I used that along with some pb blaster and it came out like butter.

soo....if anyone ever has this problem, there ya go
