I have a 1994 Ford mustang GT with the following upgrades
M-6007-X302 Crate Motor
E303 Camshaft
1.7 Cobra rockers
4:10 rear end
I've had this car for about a month and a half, it did not burn or consume any oil from that time forward
Fast forward to now I took a 10 hr trip in total to the beach everything worked perfectly I had oil pressure, temp was cool all was good when I got back Sunday last week from my trip
Then on Thursday im going to work on the highway I hear a tiny clunk and when I get off the nearest exit my car is tapping/knocking
So I brought it home took the belt system off to rule out a bad belt/pulley system and it was still knocking from what it sounded
One by one i took a spark plug out on each cylinder and when I unplugged the wire to cylinder #8 it went away a good bit
IDoes this sound like a connecting rod/bearing or maybe something with the lifters of some sort if so I'm probably going to pull the motor and fix it next weekend I'm having it sent to the shop Monday but I'm trying to diagnose the problem a little bit so it wouldn't cost me a diagnostics fee and I could go from there any help would be appreciated
