My car loses power in first and second like its there then it cuts out. I just changed the fuel pump and reset the computer wich helped out a bit. Now i am thinking its either the O2 sensors or the fuel filter. Any ideas?
if you think you are having fuel starvation issues, you might want to hook up a diagnostic fuel pressure gauge and see how it does. it will be hard to see the gauge while you drive it, to see if you are starving on the top end (i wonder if you could remove the cowl and run the gauge up there, enough to see. i dont think so).
even revving the motor in the garage might shed some light as to whether you are losing pressure at higher RPM's.
now, im not sure that it is a fuel starvation problem (do you get the power back as you rev higher; like is it a dead spot in the powerband?). if so, i might check out the TPS (throughout the range of operation to make sure you dont have a dead spot). if it is just a dead spot, i would lean toward an engine management issue.
im not saying any of this will help - im just tossin out what came to mind first blush with the info provided. you will get a ton of help - there are a lot of whizzes in here. just give as much info as possible when posting. it is hard to help someone from a keyboard without every last bit of info.
ok its only WOT... i put the chip that the smog place back on the computer (superchip) and it runs alot better and its not backfiring anymore. But WOT there is still a bit of cut out... if i push almost but not flooring it there is no cut out. so im thinking either Fuel Filter or O2 Sensor

say what - chip - what chip......ok, i guess that would make a difference.
at WOT, the O2's are not used, so it is not them. you could check FP at WOT. im not smart enough to know what else to try. maybe somone else knows. good luck.
Do the standard tune up stuff first, plugs, wires, cap, rotor, fuel & air filters. If that doesn't fix it, start looking at the TFI module. On cars made prior to 94, it is mounted on the distributor.
