Is there'a a screen of baffle protecting my gas tank? I need to siphon out some contaminated gas and can't get a hose in there. I really don't wanna drop my gas tank to empty it.

What I want to do is use a piece of garden hose (because it's stiffer) and blow air across the end of those hose get the gas out.

Any suggestions?

In a recent thread (don't remember what it was about) but a discussion of gas siphoning arose. Some say, "it is impossible" ... Some say "I have done it" .. I don't know which is correct but I am still curious. There is supposedly some screen or something that 'prevents' siphoning ....

From all the searching I have done, you can't siphon gas from our cars.

I have personally siphoned gas out of my tank. It was on 1/4 tank and I got 2.5 gallons out of it. I have a 2000. I don't know what everyone else is sayiy that you can't. I used a 1/4 inch id hose and snaked it in there. It went in a couple feet. sucked on the end until I saw fuel come over the hump in the hose and let er rip.
