Hey all,

I hit a curb a while back in the rain. I guess I slid into the damned thing at around 10 mph or so. My question is how can I determine whether or not I have bent my spindle?

Only way I can think of is to spin the wheel. If it wobbles then swap wheels out with another wheel you know isn't bent and spin it and if it still wobbles then it's either the hub (bearing) or spindle. Basically you just have to eliminate the problem one piece at a time unless you can visually see that it's bent.

Front wheel? Spindles rarely bend, but it does happen. I had a bent spindle on my 97 Cobra I fixed. I couldn't see where it was bent compared to the new one, but it got my wheel out where it need to be. It must have hit it just right.

I should mention that I slid into a curb... the strut towers have been slotted in order to restore alignment. I just picked up some CC plates for the car as well. The shop guys tell me there is too much camber. I do not recall whether it was negative or positive but my previous set of tires wore on the inside much faster than the center of the tire. The car is not lowered. I was once told by a shop that the car HAD to have been lowered or something seriously banged up because the specs were outside of his machine's limit.

I just picked up a set of cobra control a-arms and intend to purchase some coil springs. I need to repair and revitalize the front suspension of my convertible 02 GT.

my aligner will measure over 10* of camber!! the wheel would practically be laying on its side for it not to read.

post up some specs and i'll let you know whats up
