Slow Oil Leak From This Plug, What's It Called?

Just bought this car, went to do an oil change and found this plug leaking. It's been sealed with thread locker, but no good.

So I took it out during the oil change, only a little oil came out.

I cleaned the threads as best I could, cleaned the whole area then put the plug back in with high temp thread locker.

I noticed two days later that the leaking continues.

What is this called so I can buy a fresh one without all the dried up thread locker .

Looks like that one just needs to be resealed.

I did, took it out, cleaned it. There was still some orange thread lock that I couldn't remove but added more thread lock however it still drips. Should I tighten it more? Replace it, so the threads can lock?

You should be using thread seal and not thread lock.

but there seems to be some orange stuff stuck, which is probably causing the leak, not allowing the threads to fully seal. Thats why I want to get a new one.

The orange stuff shouldn't matter. The sealant will seal those remains as well.

Is it leaking from anywhere other than the threads, that you can tell?

Maybe clean it all off, run the motor to temp, and check for active leaking versus static leaks.

Only from there, maybe I didn't put enough sealant

I agree with flstang65, it is the oil filter housing gasket, the oil looks to be coming from above the sender.

so, in order replace the gasket, I would have to do another oil change, right?
