Slow To Idle Down??? ANY CURES KNOWN???

When I put on my 70mm throttle body and bbk cold air intake (same time) I noticed that my car would not return to idle speed as quickly as it would when it was totally stock. Is this common or do I have something set wrong??? any help is greatly appreciated thanks everyone.

Common problem...

This is common. As it was explained to me, the time to decrease to base idle is a function of how much air is stored in the throttle body relative to how much air is needed for base idle. If you go to a larger throttle body, it takes more time to get to base idle. Happened to me and I switched back to my stock throttle body and everything went back to normal. I have been running the 70mm throttle body and live with the time it takes to get to idle. My engine idles at 1000 rpm when I first come to a stop and then drops to 800 rpm after 5 seconds.

Do a search on "hanging idle". You find the answers you seek.

alright I have a question for you guys, the throttle body I put on was a Proffessional Products brand. The gasket for the IAC was slightly mismatched will that contribute to my problems??? there are two holes and the gasket was restricting one of them a little could this be the cause??

Not ignoring you...

but I just don't know. I have never seen a gasket that did not match up.

i had the 65 pro products tb and it came with that gasket. someone told me that i should not use the mismatched one. i thought maybee that they messed up and sent only me the wrong gasket but it looks like they all have that gasket. i would say get a new gasket(correct me if i am wrong becase im not 100%)
