SLP exhaust

I have been looking for someone who has been able to hear the SLP loudmouth exhaust on a 4.6 and have not had any luck. Has anyone heard this exhaust, I want to get it but I dont want to spend 400 bucks on it without haveing any idea of what it sounds like. I have longtubes, o-r pipe and 2 chamber flowmasters now. Im looking for something diffrent, and no one has the SLP kit where I am.

My brother had the Loudmouth II; I thought it sounded great. It had a VERY deep tone, was quiet at idle, and at WOT it roared. Regular driving was pretty loud, but not deafening; the main thing I remember about it was the low frequency rumble. It wasn't raspy at all; maybe that's what the original Loudmouth sounded like, I've never heard those (except for soundclips). I've also never heard the Borlas in person, but others swear by them; pretty expensive, though, and not as much HP/torque. To be honest, you really need to listen to an exhaust before you buy it.

Wait and hear all the diffrent types you can. I wanted the slp but then a change my mind. The worst thing is if you hear something you like a couple of weeks later after you just got yours. Like I said I am not a fan of any brand, but when I listen to the borlas it whas nice. The Bassani sounds awsome to.

I have SLP catback on my 01 GT and it sounds great. The sound is raw and aggressive. It's not raspy and doesnt have a drone. IMO it is the loudest catback on the market. I researched all of the catbacks before I got mine and am happy i didnt go with the magnapacks or american thunder. Seems like everyone has flowmasters. I have people all the time tell me how mean it sounds. Some people think i have a mid pipe too, but its just the catback.

Slp loudmouth sounds a bit camaro-ish to me. Flows definately sound better.

Aaaahhh thats questionable. But the Flows do sound alright, but WAY to quiet if you ask me. I think my SLP loudmouth is about right in sound tone for me. :D SLP is definately unique, and i think it sounds rediculously retro-like gurgling at low rpms around turns and stuff. :hail2:

98blackmagic if you are anywhere near 07647 (north-eastern NJ) you can come see my set-up.

Well with my magnaflow X, i can say that it is a "bit" raspy-ish. It really doesn't bother me, but now that I have the X-pipe, I can see how some peopel do say its raspy-ish. I agree though, nothing beats the sound of SLP. :flag:

And its not just your opinion, the loudmouth cat-back *IS* the loudest cat-back on the market. I remember reading that the flowmaster 40 series was @ like 80 desables (sp?) and the magnaflow magnapacks were at like 97-ish, and the SLP was at about 115 :D

I have an SLP Loudmouth I with an MRT catted H-pipe and like the sound. Fit and finish was excellent as well.

I thought about selling my Magnaflow X for an MRT H. How did you like the sound? What midpipe did you have before the MRT? Where'd ya get it from?

PM me.

That's a good description of what it sounds like when you're going really slow and it sounds sweeeet. I got the LM and I'm very happy with it. I had to listen as my mom took it around the block so I could hear it how everyone else heard it. Sounded just like I wanted it to under acceleration, not obnoxious- very deep and rumbly.

EDIT: with your o/r x the LM might be too loud/raspy for you. I think even a catted SLP X will still sound amazing and plenty loud.

MRT makes good stuff, I replaced my mac's with the MRT catback and it sounds great,I cancelled the slp order from mustang tuning cause they couldnt tell me when it was going to be shipped,so MRT is local and I went with theirs.sound awsome, still a deep tone without the chambered sound but not the raspiness from packed mufflers. you can hear it on there website.www.mrt-direct.com it is the mrt catback with the mrt mufflers on a bullit.also it is all stainless

Well I got a good response on this question, a lot of diffrent opinion's too. I wan't a agressive sound but I also wan't to be able to pull up at MickeyD's or the bank on Friday and not have to cut off the car to hear. That was a MAJOR pain in the a** in my 91 GT. I had the full MAC exhaust on it, sounded great but much more like a strip car than street. The cam had a lot to do with that too but that is a old problem gone by. The SLP system has gotten some good feedback anyone else have any advice? I'm ready to make a change soon the Flowmasters on here now have got too go. (Nothing aginst FM but I wan't something completly diffrent)

I got the LM1 and like others said its quite like at idle but open her up and its just nice. I had a guy that followed me 2 miles off the hiway to ask what i was running, for exhaust and i told him he wanted to know if i had headers and turned aroung. I like it alot just cant wait to get the O/R X pipe.
