'95 Mustang Cobra. I've got the 3g small case on my '73, it fits perfectly where the old 60amp small case went. By far, one of the best things I've done to my car. It used to charge 12.8 with A/C and headlights on with the old alt., and went to 14.35 with everything on with the new one.

Thank you, are yous sure you got the small case 3g off of a 95 cobra? My 94 cobra has a large case, and the part number crossreferances to a 95 cobra as well.

do you know other vehicles a small case 3g or 6g might be on (like ones I could find in a junkyard)?

thanks

I have the smaller case 3g, no cutting required. It is from like a 92 Ford Econoline V8 95 amp. The vans with a/c had 130 amp alternators, so go with the no a/c option if going to a parts store. Its not as good as a 130, but its better than stock crap.

Wish i could help with that one. If you go to some of the auto parts websites, I am thinking Advance Auto Parts. They will show you what models it is all used on. But to look at the outside of it and know. I don't know of the answer to that. Hope someone else can help you with this one.

Update:

I got one out of a 92 Aerostar in the JY this weekend. Its rated at 95 amps, clocked properly, and fits an FE!!!!!

It is basicaly the same small case 3g that powermaster sells minus that fancy likee jumper wire thing to make it into a one wire
