i was hoping someone could give me some insight on the pros and cons of removing my smog setup. Would i need to tune the computer? im pretty new to this so any advise would be appreciated.

i like it. it came with a tune for whatever i told them. then i can just take it to a dyno and get a custom flash tune. so ya i would recommend it.

Cons-you cannot license your car in an emissons area, cannot sell it there (here in Colorado the seller is financially liable for emission test failure), and if the area you live in becomes an emission test area you are stuck. Test areas are growing, not shrinking as new EPA limits are causing more areas to fail. I would be sure to save any parts you take off as replacing them is expensive (especially catalytic converters). The emission testing program here started suddenly in the 80's and caught most of us by surprise just as we were celebrating the death of the annual safety inspection program.

It shouldn't give you any more power because it is no belt driven. It's an electric motor in the right fenderwell.

All it does it clean up your engine bay save a couple of pounds and throw a check engine light on. I would just leave it on there. I took mine off because it got broke in an accident when I got the car, but other than that, I would have left it.
