Engine Smoke tested 5.0

I just smoke tested my 93 5.0 and had it coming out of the egr valve and through the TPS sensor. I keep seeing conflicting messages about if that means the EGR is bad or not? Can anyone clarify for me. My idle is high and hangs up. Car also has no power. Very sluggish. I have adjusted the tps voltage I have it at .96 and have cleaned the throttle body up. I have a new egr and tps sensor on order.

Replacing the egr is a good move. The tps does not have a seal so likely the tb is leaking at the shaft.

Vac leak. Fix where the smoke is coming out, and your problem should go away.

Where exactly have you hooked it up to? I'm trying to figure out where to tap into.

I've done a couple different places. Behind the intake, I've also done the vacuum tree on the drivers side.

There is a fairly large vacuum line under the intake plentum that is hard to reach and see. I searched for a vacuum leak for a while on a 5.0 before finding it.

How are you guys blocking off air filter? I have smoke coming out of there while doing the test.

I pulled the air filter off and put a laytex glove over it.
