Now before I get the search-police coming around, this isnt just another pic request thread I am going to replace the wonderful yellow stock headlights/corners on my stang, and I'm looking for some opinions from you tasteful folks. My car is laser red, and I've narrowed my choices down to 4-piece cobra-like clears or 4-piece smoked clears (the lightly smoked ones). To me, the clears give a cleaner look to the car, and the smoked ones give a more aggressive look. I THINK I will be happier with the aggressive look of smoked, but I cant decide if it works with my colour the smoked lights almost look out of place on the red cars... but maybe I'm just crazy. Another worry is making the lights too dim to be safe at night.. maybe I'm better off with the clears. What do you guys think?

IMO I would go with the Smoked lights and maybe an HID kit. I think the smoked kit will definetly give you the agressive look, but with the HID's you won't have a problem with night viewing. Like I said that's just my opinion.

Here's what my clears look like with laser red. I also installed a clear bulb to replace the amber bulb in the corners.

I LOVEE my smoked lenses, and i am also lazer red, makes the car look mean. My night time light has increased big time, because my stock lights where so far gone. I dont like the look of clear all that much, but its a personal preferance. Either way it will clean up the look so much, i shouldnt have waited so long to do it.

bump for smoked, especially on a red car. I just put mine on and it looks sick, especially if you have darker rims: i.e. factory bullitts or any anthracite or gunmetal colored rim.

I would go with clears on a red car. I have smoked headlamps and fogs on my Cobra and it looks great, but I don't know if it would look as good on a red car. I would echo humphrey111 that it would look good if you have some dark or black wheels to go along with the look.

I agree with prokiller. Plus with smoked light visablity is cut 3/4! my fog lights were brighter then my smoked lights.

Now if you were to do a HID retrofit then the smoked light would provide enough light. and plus it looks like the car has no soul.

EXACTLY! :SNSign:

It depends on the wheels you have on red/blue/etc stangs. Light/bright wheels = clears. Gunmetal/darker wheels = smoked. Also, you need some sort of tint on the windows to bring in the theme for smoked lights.

Smoked lights can go great with any color but you have to build the car around them. Bright silver wheels and no tint on the windows will make smoked lights look out of place IMO. Clears would fit the bill much better.

I went from smoked back to stockers. Cut my vision down to much and didn't want the HID kit. I will do the Ultra Clears when funds allow. I do more night driving then day time driving.
