i dont know what the cfm rating is but the fan on my mach1 blows more air than my buddys 2100 cfm fan he has on his 68 cougar

the reason i ask is because i have a slightly modded 95 v6 and i just think i might put the sn95 shrouded fan and stick it on my .060 302 89 and put either a stock fan back on the 95 or put on 2 other electric fans that i have on the 95. the sn95 fan is shrouded and it would clean up the 89's look under the hood. it may be dumb to pull something off of a perfectly good car,(except for the bad fuel pump and rotted out mufflers and hanging driver's side tailpipe) but i need to cool this 89 down some.

I don't know the cfm's but I'm using the fan with no problems and my car is mildly modded. But I also have a huge radiator too. Before when the car was stock (and stock radiator) the fan worked just fine with no problems. Ran too cool until I put the temp switch on there.

well i have a radiator from a 90 ford truck. it has 1 1 inch core and is longer and a little taller than the stock mustang one. i did have a 3 core from an 82 truck and it was cool until the fan hit it. i was dumb and did not bolt the bottom down and then i punch the gas and the radiator swayed into the fan. but it may be able to fix. not worth it i don't think since i can get a summit aluminum for 170.

I'm running the summit and it's a great radiator. You should'nt have a problem running that fan and radiator. You can take a look at my setup in my sig. Hit the link.

i searched and coudn't find a thread on how to wire the sn95 fan. do i have to take the relay that plugs into the fan too. you have a diagram or know where to get one.

I do have a small pic of how I wired the fan in the link, page 8. I used two relays that I bought myself so I don't think you need to get the one out of the car. But it might work for you.

edit: The pic is at the bottom of page 8 but I also have 2 links on that page for electric fan install. Might help you out.

ok thanks for that article but i know when i disconnect the fan temp switch on the 95 v6, the engine light comes on. how hould i stocp that. just but crossing the 2 wires on the connector. i might try that today and see what i get.

ok legendary, your site says the v8 fans have 3 wires and the v6 fans have 2 wires going to them. i looked on my 95 3.8 and there are 3 wires, red black and orange. what is the orange for, is it a remote wire like on an amp or what.

I believe that the two power wires are for high and low speed or when the a/c is on. I'm not sure since I didn't use the plug at all. I just found the ground and the high speed power and used those two terminals. All you need is the ground and power.

ok i think i might swap the fans as soon as i get the motor going again in the 89, it will take a while since i kinda don't want to put it back together until i find a set of cheap used performance heads. or find somebody to trade

the SN fans have their own relay package (CCRM) - using your own stuff is smart.
the high speed threshold for the fans (if using their set up) is 208* - not cool. the ECT sends the signal for fan switching.

be sure to wire in a circuit breaker, as the motors have been known to short out.

I'd wire it up with this device at dccontrol.com. I just lost my sn/95 fan, didn't realize it, and it took the motor with it.

This is the route I'm going when I get a few extra bucks.

BTW: Did your fan burning out have anything to do with the way you wired it or was it just it's time?

The fan was only 3 months old, and it's hard to tell where the problem was. I spoke with the installer who said he has never seen this before and never had a problem with the setup that was done. The dc control unit is real easy to hookup, so I figured I wasn't going to gamble another engine.

I have a light riged up to my relays so it lets me know when the fan comes on. But there is a kink in that. The light is going to light up once the relay gets power. So if the fan motor was to burn out then I wouldn't know because the light will still be on due to power still being sent to the relay. The only way I truely know when the fan is running is when I get that sudden drop in voltage.
