Sadly that is a custom shops deal not Fords. It has the new boss 302 block, its a pushrod motor in a 05+. Ford is not making this.

damn ford.... they just need to make that 4 door wagon and make it a front wheel drive and give it a 4 cyl. !!!! ford sucks they need some sense... we need a big block mustang!!!!!!!!!!

Yea somebody posted a link to pics of that car a few days ago. It looks incredible! I love the blue/black on that one too. I read in motor trend that the Boss will have a 5.0 "Hurricane" engine if and when it is released. Supposedly its some new engine that will be able to keep pace with the upcoming 400hp+ camaro and challenger.

I read someplace that the new line of mods based off the hurricane (now renamed due to katrina) will be larger at like 6.x

Yes, I believe Ford's next engine (hurricane as it was known) will be a 6.2l variable valve timing, modular. It will begin its life in trucks.

the Boss 302 is a different engine however.

IMO they should just put the Navi engines in the new GTs.

I still don't see why ford has been putting underpowered modular engines in their cars and trucks for the past decade. They should have stuck with the tried and true pushrod engines like GM and dodge did, refining them along the way. The 5.7L "hemi" truck engine in my freind's ram 1500 positively rapes the 5.4 2v in my dad's '03 f150. GM's vortec's are no slouch either. Obviously Ford will never go back after investing so much in the current platform, but man it would be badass for a mustang to have a real 5.0 under the hood again (or hey, why not a 5.8 even?), not an enlarged variant of the OHC modular in the current mustang gt.

If given the bump in C.I. and with a 3v or 4v head...that would be a MEAN motor. Look at the 302 cammer motor. I am not a big fan of the 2v with so many 4v out there now and they do well with the small-ish size...make a bigger one and I bet things get really interesting fast.

I have always given Ford my respect with its OHC just by the fact they are the ONLY one of the big three to really develope it. Yeah the LSx motors are a really nice setup as well but even they are total steps away from the old 350 ect. motors they make so even Chevy didnt "stick with it", and I am not too impressed with the longevity of the LSx motors. Even with the size diff. from LSx to a 4v things are not THAT far off for the size diff.

Ex.

buddy 1 has a 98ls1 formula with 4.10's longtubes, lid, maf, tuner, o/r Y, and borla catback. 13.2's (without longtubes or O/R pipe).

Buddy 2 has a 98 cobra with 4.56's, MGW, BBK X pipe, Magnaflow catback runs like 13.2 (before BBK xpipe, and magnaflow catback).

Both run each other fairly often and the cobra pulls away from the formula.

32v DOHC engines are excellent, and the cobras have come a long way since '96, but theyre not always better than ohv

hemi and LS1 > N/A dohc 4.6L
z06 LS7 > Blown dohc gt500 5.4L
SRT8 Hemi or LS6 > dohc 5.4L / blown dohc 4.6L

lol this argument could go on for days tho.
