So comfortable!

I picked up my buddys old 87 GT seats today, and after a couple hours I had nice, comfortable seats in the stang! Whadda think?

Are there electrical controls on yours? I have them on mine, and I though about hooking them up, but last night I just wanted to get them set in and see how they looked and felt.

I have the same seat and yea they are pretty comfortable. Keep me updated when you get the electrical connections conected. I would love to have adjustable lumbar.

I'm jealous... I haven't been able to do it, yet. Did you have to mount those to the original brackets? That's what I've been told, for at least 95 & newer seats.

nope mine have manual lumbar adjustment

The install was pretty straight forward. First I pulled out my old seats, and took the tracks off, then did the same with GT seats. I did have a problem getting the last bolt off the passenger side GT seat, cause I couldn't move the track out of the way....so I bent the track out of the way. Next I bolted the tracks from my old seats onto the GT seats. I had the front holes on the track match up with the GT's front bolt holes and used the GT's old 10mm bolts to hold it in place. Then I drilled holes in the GT's frame so that I could put a nut and bolt to hold the back part of the track to the seat frame. After that, I just dropped them in and I was done!

Yup, used the tracks off the 67's seats, and mounted them to the GT's seats. The only extra work was drilling some holes in the GT's seat frame so that the back bolt holes on the 67's track would have a place to attach to. I could have mounted them with the tracks that were on the GT seats, but my thought was that they would change how the seat sat (did I just say seat sat?).

Ya, I got electrical controls on mine. I'll have to look at the seat and see how it's wired, but it should be pretty straight forward.

did the new seat increase the ride height of the driver at all? was curious about clearance for legs and such compared to old seats.

If it did I don't notice it at all. I have know problems with my legs hitting the steering wheel while driving. It's even easier to get in and out of the car now.
