if i swapped it to a 5 speed i probably wouldn't want to get rid of it at all. so far..i like it.. and cant wait to pick it up soon.

You can buy a whole new 6 pc light set for well under 100.00 on ebay. It will be better than sanding etc.
Theres probably someone on here with a nice used set for cheap.

Good job Ryan. Verts FTMFW! You got into yours for a lot less than I paid for mine. When it's all said and done and it's a summertime toy, nothing better than popping down the top and going for a ride. To those who don't think it's easy to sell a vert, try checking out NJ/PA craigslist, autoshopper, etc.. I about had a heart attack when I thought the ins co was going to total my car and started shopping. Anything worth buying is 7-10k out here for a stick fox vert.

I wish i bought a vert. When i was shopping for a PI GT, it came down to my car and an triple black GT vert. The vert was used and had a bad scratch on the hood and i didn't want black, so i bought my silver coupe.

I wish i bought the vert. There are days when i go for a cruise in the summer and wish i could sawzall my roof off

At least on the 5.0 i have a sunroof. The OEM roof is pretty big, so with the roof off and the windows down it's pretty open and airy inside. T-tops would be the dong though

i love verts. top up and down. still love a clean LX hatch though!

nice find. before you posted the 2nd set of pics i was going to say NOT to buy it but the 2nd set of pics changed my mind. looks like a nice car.

and something i noticed in what you said about the "GT tweed seats"

and 5.0 car 89-93 had the sport style "GT" seats in them. so your seats are factory seats

in 87-88 LX cars (even the 5.0s) had the cheap lx seats, all GTs in those two years had the sport seats.

89-93 4 cyl cars had the cheap lx seats. any 5.0 car had the sport seats.

and while i am rambling on, there is also a difference b/w the 87-89 and 90-93 sport seats.

87-89 had taller backs on them, and a bigger/fatter headrest, plus stitching going horizontally across the seat.

90-93 had shorter back seats and smaller headrests and the cross ways stitching was taken away. and in 92-93 the leg rest was removed....

92-93 seats also don't have the pull out thigh support...whcih i personally love. Also around 92 or 93 the driver's seat got 6-way power

87-88 5.0 LX convertibles did get the sport seats. Ford put them in the hatchback in 1989 and into the coupe in 1991

They are cozy, but I sold off mine for something a little newer

idk..maybe two toned with grey and black. we will see.. it really depends..i have access to lifts, paint both powder coating everything on the off days. ( my buddys shop ) im thinking this winter wet sanding it to get the paint back to perfect. the bay is nice..just realllllly dirty. so that will get cleaned. i would LOVE to be able to show this as a clean DD this coming spring..nothing crazy. just clean. alot depends on if it gets swapped to a 5 speed..if that happens..the car will be getting kept for a while..and like i said..i already sold hte ported GT40P heads i had sitting in my garage months back..DAMNIT! but i still have the TFS 1 cam and explorer upper and lower tucked away. so im sure ill go get gaskets and do the intake sometime. not sure if i want to do the cam or not....

for now..just need to clean it up. and find some cheap MAC mufflers or something not crazy loud but sounds good to replace the super turbos on there now..hateeee them!
