They are turbo now. Now longer a BMW engine, think Puegot?

I was watching that street tuner challenge on Speed. They threw an arse load of money at one. New engine internals and big turbo with a custom plenum and the car made like 18 more Hp something like 173 wheel hp I belive the Focus beat it

My bad, thought it was ALL Peugeot.

From Edmunds:
Date posted: 06-21-2005
BMW will work with French carmaker PSA Peugeot Citroën to produce a new family of small four-cylinder gasoline engines that will power the next-generation (08) Minis as well as future Peugeot and Citroën models.

Makes sense to me and I guess out of the $22K cars out there that is one of the better choices..... while its under warrenty. I like BMW and have had several but I will NEVER own one out of warrenty again.

But a nice education will allow you to get whatever you want down the road

nope, BMW.

If it was a Jaguar, it would be a Ford, which might make it more well received

Nice pick up, Ryan. I wish I could find something for $1500 that isnt a tired, hacked up piece of junk.

are you sure about that? I thought BMW was a german company? I know that the mini's even the states side versions are produced by an english corporation.

They are also developed by Peugeot/Citron (sp?)
Mini used to be a company in itself but the new one was brought out by BMW. The last engine was a S/C Bmw powerplant and the new one is now turbo and a BMW/Peugeot powerplant.
