...yeah, sorry perverts, not that kinda thread.

So she's in the basement watching television and I hear her singing away. So I go downstairs to see what its all about and see this....

Seriously.....is this what passes for music now a days. Worse than that, she's going absolutely Ga-Ga for this twerp, almost swooning as she proclaims how "hot" he is. Now....I've got to say, not only is the music (and I use that term lightly) absolutely painful to listen to, filled with some of the most unimaginative lyrics I've ever heard.....but it's obvious this kid has seen the business end of a penis up close (not that our 15-year-old clued in). I couldn't find one single masculine thing about him. And the straight ones don't seem to look any different. Is this really what's replaced the Steve McQueen's, Robert Redford's and Paul Newman's of the day?

It saddens me this is what today's youth thinks real talent is and worse yet, real men are. She won't even listen to anything came out pre-2000's and considers anything pre-2005 "old time music". I just noticed the other day that I hadn't tuned into Sirius Hits 1 in well over a year. They music today is THAT BAD!!!

It scares me that this mentality and level of awareness from today's youth is what I have to look forward to changing my diaper in my golden years.

Ok I am one of the resident pervs...well maybe the leader. But I saw 15 and stopped. Well for a moment.

I have some "lady friends" with teenage daughters. They go nuts over 1D and 5SOS or however that goes. Does Bieber ring a bell?

Back in the day, girls went crazy over the backstreet boys, prince and many others that I would put in the same category as today's pop boy freaks.

Now us guys, we had taste. We would drool over Paula Abdul, Madonna, the Bengals, and so many more that were pretty damn smoking.

So basically it comes down to this. Teenage girls are stupid. Teenage boys are genius.

Edit...you might need that diaper soon if you still think of Steve McQueen or Redford as the hunks. I'm 38 and when I was that age the cool dudes were like Tom Cruise and Kevin Costner. Dang man you are old.

Yeah, but at the very least...the Backstreet boys could harmonize. True, the boy band thing was a total cheap shot to pull the girls in, but they could all at least sing and dance in unison....and lets be honest, like em or not, they had some catchy tunes.

As for Prince.....I'll admit, I never like more than a couple of his tunes and I always though he was weird as :poo:, but nobody can deny the guy is an incredible performer and a phenomenal guitar player.

This little puff in the above video literally whined his way through it and need auto-tune and a complete music synthesizer to keep him in tune.
We all saw the beginning of the end in the late-90's and early-00's when talentless tarts like Brittany spears and the like became huge commercial successes, even though they couldn't sing a note. But like with the backstreet boys, she had a hook. She was hot and she put on a good show.

I ask again....what does today's newest crop have? Especially the males? They can't sing, they can't dance, they can't play instruments, they put absolutely nothing into their music video's (if they even have them) and their songs and lyrics are downright horrendous. Quite frankly, tallent has taken a back seat to a pretty face.....and now, not even that. Seems average, is the new good looking?!? I don't get it at all!?!?!?!?

I didn't think it was possible, but kids are actually getting dumber as time goes on!!!

I just keep thinking of that movie Idiocracy and how much closer to reality it gets, ever year.

lol....hunks, no. But at the very least, they were manly men. Costner is a good choice, even though his career isn't as hot as it used to be. Cruise just got too weird with that whole scientology thing for me.

Look into Sturgill Simpson, Brandy Clark, Jason Isbell, Austin Lucas, Turnpike Troubadors, Lindi Ortega, Hayes Carll, and Kevin Fowler. Good country didn't die, it just went underground and/or went to Canada and Texas.
